Teruhiro Yanagihara is a Japanese product designer and interior designer. Born in 1976 in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan, he set up his own studio in 2000. In 1999, he graduated from Osaka University of the Arts, majoring in design. He founded the ceramic brand 1616 / Arita Japan, which combines tradition with new design and embodies excellent craftsmanship and craftsmanship.

 With a vision to develop his own "recognizable" design, Teruhiro Yanagihara has been offering borderless design around the world. His projects cross borders and cultures, forming a collision between contemporary design, industry and Japanese craftsmanship. Since 2002, Teruhiro Yanagihara has been active in many design fields.

When he designs a product, he thinks of the space in which it will be placed, and when he is  designing a space, he thinks of the products that will be placed within it. For him, space and products are always interrelated. In future he wants to research natural materials and work on the concept of reinterpreting history in his designs. He would like to design spaces that are rooted in the land and an understanding of climate and history, instead of spaces that can be created anywhere using new building materials.
