Mixd, a Warsaw, Netherlands-based design studio, designed their headquarters for Echo Investment, one of the largest development firms in the region. It's a surreal, tasteful private office inspired by the film Inception. The project celebrates the possibilities of unlimited creativity within the city.

As one enters the hall, wooden abstract architectural forms can be seen adorning the ceiling, a concept that references the iconic scene from Inception, in which the city is turned upside down. The blocks are also a mirror image of the huge Warsaw model placed in the hall, showing the impact of the towering building on the capital's current landscape.

With panoramic views of the city, the interior is a warm palette of brown and beige tones complemented by a dazzling palette of noble materials such as wood, ceramic, metal and leather. The design team also made some changes to the decor, adding their team's rotating chair to the lobby, a subtle reference to the spinning top seen in the film.

Like an architectural studio, models and urban planning are used throughout the interior. The reception desk was placed on an unfurled "drawing". Echo Investment's offices are located in a former Warsaw brewery, and Mixd's design also pays homage to the site's former life, with the preservation of a large number of copper details that hint at brewing vats. In addition to the copper, cast-irons from the demolished brewery building are now converted into potted plants, while the front door handles interpret the Warsaw brewery logo.
