Pavillon Del Esprit Nouveau

Pavillon del 'esprit Nouveau is a model house built for the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Art in Paris, France. The building was designed by French architects Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret. In 1977, Glauco Gresleri, Giuliano Gresleri and Jose Oubrerie built an identical replica of the new pavilion for the SAIE Architecture Exhibition in The Fiera district of Bologna, Italy. The architects collaborated with the Le Corbusier Foundation to complete the project.

While other pavilions are piled up with fancy and ornate, Pavillon Del Esprit Nouveau is stripped of all decorations and is as simple as it gets. It is a white box with a lattice structure formed by large black window frames on the front façade. Either way, it is designed as an ideal residence to show how clean and tidy standardized modern homes can be built by using industrial materials inside and out of the building and by stripping away the decorative simplicity. The living space is two-story, with a loft bedroom on the second floor overlooking a two-story living room with only basic modern furnishings - wooden chairs, leather sofas, a graceful built-in closet and a metal staircase reminiscent of the inside of an ocean liner's gangway.
