Taller de Arquitectura X, based in Mexico, was founded by architect Alberto Kalach. They pay attention to the theory and practice of architecture, and often pay close attention to and think about the problems existing in the process of urban development, which are exactly reflected in their works. From the low-energy, low-cost homes to the sprawling Mexico Ciudad Futura, their focus on sustainability and localisation is evident.

Taller de Arquitectura X is not so much an architecture firm as an experimental studio for learning. Architects are adept at creating Spaces that question, explore and redefine other Spaces, breaking through the constraints of site, budget and time, and turning them into opportunities for new solutions that not only respect the existing environmental conditions, but also the cultural context of the site in which they are located.

Alberto Kalach, the founder of the studio, is also a thinker, architect and conservationist who cares about and values the impact of the environment on the building and puts it at the heart of the starting point of the design.
