Mason Studio is an award-winning Canadian cutting-edge interior design company founded in 2011 by designers Stanley Sun and Ashley Rumsey, focusing on the integration of art, objects, graphics and technology.
Stanley Sun and Ashley Rumsey They were classmates of Ryerson University's interior design major. After graduation, they went to work at KPMB Architects. After working for a year, they went to different companies.
From 2008 to 2011, Stanley Sun was the chief designer at Jump Studios, the UK's top architectural design consultancy, and Rumsey was the designer at Toronto's top design firm, Yabu Pushelberg. Until May 2011, they founded Mason Studio together.
Stanley Sun is particularly interested in the impact of local science and environmental change on human physiological responses. He has received formal training in design, fine arts and sciences at various academic institutions in Canada and Asia, and is a conference instructor at the Ryerson University School of Interior Design.
Ashley has a deep understanding of the potential to foster interdisciplinary relationships to increase the project's knowledge base. She is a leading researcher in Canada and Australia and an expert in interior design and visual arts. She has worked on projects in the US, Asia, Europe and the Middle East to manage large projects for international hoteliers.
Mason studio combines traditional domain knowledge with interior design concepts to blend multidisciplinary concepts. The motivation behind Mason Studio is based on an understanding of the true response to demand and the importance of interior design in a comprehensive and effective environment with commercial objectives.
