Jaya Ibrahim

Design sense you can only get after you make many mistakes and you learn what not to do and what way to progress.

Architect Jaya Ibrahim was born and raised in Indonesia in 1948. On May 5, 2015, he accidentally fell from his staircase and died.Jaya was acquired by Asian design company Blink in 2017.

Jaya Ibrahim's ability to adapt to local conditions may have benefited from his diverse cultural background - his mother is a Javanese princess, his father is a civil servant and a diplomat. He grew up in the central and southern part of the city of Yogyakarta, Java, Indonesia. He has a wealthy family and travels with his parents since childhood. The nations are also aware of Javanese culture under the influence of their grandmother. After that, he went to study in the UK to study sociology, economics and accounting.

As a small accountant, he was tired of this boring job, and then decided to work in the Blakes Hotel kitchen, and the reason behind such a big change was to become an assistant to the internationally renowned designer Anouska Hempel.

Jaya has lived in the UK for 20 years and started his design career in the UK. There he worked for Anouska Hempel for 10 years and returned to his hometown in 1993 to start his own office. I was deeply influenced by Indonesian Java culture and the baptism of Western education. Ibrahim developed the unique insights and skills of the East and Western elements, and is regarded as the most outstanding interior designer in contemporary Indonesia.

For beauty and elegance, Jaya has some insights. "Elegance is a manifestation of love, and this kind of performance must first be realized from intuition. Intuition is the ability to feel the touch of your own, to listen to the sounds of your own soul, and to feel the ups and downs of emotions. The so-called elegance, It is an art that makes things beautiful."
