Irakli Zaria

Unusual Moscow designer and decorator Irakli Zaria, head of the Zaria Interiors bureau, founded in 2013 by a graduate (and now teacher) of the “Details” school.

Irakli Zaria grew up in Tbilisi, Georgia, in a cozy apartment in a 1960s Soviet-period building with a modest courtyard and a nice view over the city. His favorite part of his home was a huge library with a wide selection of books on architecture, art history, and, of course, Russian classics by Pushkin, Lermontov, and Tolstoy.

The first time Irakli Zaria saw an interior-design magazine was when he was 17 or 18 years old. He was so impressed that he began searching for more and more books on design history. Eventually, he went to Moscow to study at Details Design School, and three years ago, he started his own interiors firm. He actually got a degree in economics in Georgia before moving to Russia.

Irakli Zaria never limit himself to stylistics and interested in many directions, from neoclassic to laconic minimalism. He is especially interested in the chinoiserie style. In almost every project of him, he bring in a certain form something from the art of Japan or China.

Emphasizes the details,All items in his interiors are “special”. Interesting forms and volumes, antiques, vintage, modern objects and custom-made according to his sketches. Decorator with a perfect sense of harmony and volume. Its interiors are very atmospheric, charismatic, calm and respectable.
