Recently, the first branch of Rosewood Hotels in Japan, Rosewood Miyako Island, officially opened. This brand-new chapter of expanding its territory in Asia marks the beginning of a new milestone for Rosewood Hotels in the luxury resort market, further solidifying its leading position in Asia. The Rosewood Miyako Island is located on an undeveloped primeval tropical peninsula off the southern coast of Japan. The island, known as the "Island of Wishes", is nestled among lush natural landscapes and surrounded by a serene and deep coastline. It is a destination rich in local cultural spirit. With the official opening of the Rosewood Miyako Island, the Rosewood Hotel, with its renowned "Miyako Blue" as the background color, presents another magnificent place for guests from all over the world to deeply experience the local culture.

Inheriting the exploration of luxurious lifestyle and local culture by Rosewood Hotels, Rosewood Miyako Island combines relaxation, in-depth exploration and personalized customization services to present an immersive experience that combines local Japanese culture, spirit and natural landscapes. It invites guests who are looking forward to a luxurious vacation or those who wish to retreat to this secluded paradise. The infinity pool by the sea offers guests a magnificent view of the sea and sky blending into one. The serene courtyard overlooking the sea is specially designed for weddings and special occasions. There is also the Asaya Spa, which represents the magnificent concept of health and wellness, encouraging guests to embark on a deep exploration of physical and mental balance on the island of longevity.

Relying on the local characteristics of the peninsula, the Rosewood Miyako Island offers four unique culinary experiences for visiting guests, including a fresh interpretation of local cuisine and longevity dishes rich in the unique vitamins and minerals of Miyako Island. The all-day restaurant NAGI ingeniously combines Italian cuisine with Japanese cooking techniques. The seafood restaurant MAAS catches seafood from the surrounding sea areas and presents simple and pure delicious dishes. The seaside bar YUKUU offers a selection of beverages and casual snacks, providing guests with a relaxing and pleasant moment while enjoying the sea view. CHOMA Restaurant, which will open to the public within this year, brings together the four essence of Japanese cuisine - sushi, tempura, teppanyaki and yakitori, hiding the Japanese culinary culture between mountains and seas.

The design of the Magnificent Miyako Island Hotel was undertaken by the internationally renowned Dutch design firm Piet Boon Studio. The founder, Piet Boon, is regarded as one of the all-round top design masters in the Netherlands and has submitted outstanding works in the design of many hotels and residential projects of Rosewood Hotels worldwide. Piet Boon was attracted by this serene and secluded retreat. During the design process, he took into account the unique charm of the archipelago's history, nature and culture. Adhering to the consistent sustainable development concept of the Magnificent Hotel, he drew inspiration from the original nature and ingeniously integrated it into the local environment, achieving a seamless blend of natural landscapes and modern design.

The design aesthetics of the Rosewood Miyako Island are ingeniously in harmony with the local natural landscape. From the moment guests set foot in this magnificent place, they can be immersed in the pristine scenery. The design style that selects natural materials, combined with simple lines and textures, better highlights the island's pristine beaches and the azure sea scenery. We have a deep emotional resonance with Japanese culture, especially admiring the simplicity, balance and harmony in its design concepts. These elements played a crucial role in the hotel's design process, enabling us to strike a balance between luxury and tranquility, celebrate the local natural environment, and also showcase our shared design philosophy. Piet Boon, the founder of Piet Boon Studio, said.

Noriko Nakayama, the managing director of Rosewood Miyako Island, has been deeply involved in the luxury hotel industry for more than two decades and holds a master's degree in environmental science from Yale University. As an expert passionate about environmental protection and a scholar of turtle ecology, she interprets the natural beauty of Miyako Island from a unique perspective: "We are filled with great joy to unveil our first hotel in Japan on the picturesque and culturally rich Miyako Island." The Rosewood Miyako Island adheres to Rosewood's brand philosophy of 'A Sense of Place', meticulously presenting a profound experience that includes special delicacies and local cultural interactions.
