April 2025: The Whiteley, London's first department store, reimagined as a landmark residential and hospitality destination, today reveals the latest residence in The Designer Collection. A first-of-its-kind collaboration in the UK, the apartment is thoughtfully concepted by RH Contract, bringing the design authority of RH - formerly Restoration Hardware - to a spectacular duplex home. This meticulously crafted three-bedroom apartment reflects the building's architectural grandeur, embodying a sense of balance, harmony, and timeless sophistication.

Nestled behind the building's original Grade II listed 1911 façade, the apartment pays homage to The Whiteley's storied past as the world's grandest store once famed for being able to supply anything from a pin to an elephant. Boasting soaring 6.1 metre ceilings, the apartment spans 4,000 sq. ft. and features a striking mezzanine, where the principal bedroom elegantly floats above the living area below.

With an open-plan layout that establishes spatial flow, and magnificent arched windows that work in harmony to amplify natural light and fluidity throughout the home, the design evokes the splendour of the vast emporium that once stood in its place.

Echoing The Whiteley's commitment to timeless artisanal craftsmanship, the interiors blend classical European elegance with modern refinement. Upon entry, a grand hallway sets a commanding tone, immediately introducing a striking lighting centrepiece that defines the home's ambiance: the Rain Round Chandelier by master glass designer Alison Berger.

Inspired by cascading raindrops, its luminous ripples wash across the apartment's ceilings and walls. The design approach to lighting continues throughout the residence where sculptural chandeliers and pendant fixtures add subtle glamour and intimacy to each room.

Notably, in the principal bedroom, a Chiara Glass Tiered Round Chandelier, a tribute to 1950s Murano glass designs, reinterprets the era's minimalist spirit with contemporary grandeur.
