56 Leonard is located in the Tribeca district of New York. This 60-story landmark building was built by the Pritzker Prize winner, the internationally renowned architect Herzog & de Meuron in Basel, Switzerland. Beijing "Bird's Nest" is his masterpiece, and 56 Leonard is his first skyscraper work.
       56 Leonard is 250.2 meters high and has 145 residential units. The irregular spacing between the floors gives the illusion of stacking boxes. The architect evokes the modernist metaphor of the "sky villa" by stacking the glass house units vertically. 56 Leonard's tower is different from other projects in many ways. Breaking the traditional vertical aspect of tall buildings is usually repeated structural design, The unusual staggered contours, especially the higher floors, have won the title of "Cube Building".
       56 Leonard includes monumental and site-specific sculptures built by the famous London artist Anish Kapoor, fully integrated into the building base. This is the first permanent public work of Turner Prize winner Kapoor in New York City. 145 unique apartment residences, each with private outdoor space, defined by soaring ceilings and floor-to-ceiling glass window walls, show breathtaking panoramic views of the city, water, bridges and beyond. The top of 56 Leonard is the most expressive part of the project. This expressiveness is directly driven by internal requirements, including ten large penthouses with spacious outdoor and living spaces. All interiors are customized by Herzog & de Meuron.
