Drake Anderson studio and architecture firm Candelaria Design have teamed up to create a modern, colourful and stylish home in Arizona, USA. When designers Jamie Drake and Caleb Anderson began interiors for a second home for a longtime client in Paradise Valley, Ariz., they believed they had a strong sense of the owner's taste, which tended toward elegant neutrals.

The environment here offers more than just breathtaking views. Built on two adjacent lots around the corner, the house offers a "lush backyard for them to enjoy with their families," said Vivian Ayala, an architect. With a striking fireplace and open design background, Jamie Drake and Caleb Anderson knew the rest of the finish needed to rise to the occasion. "Part of this project, like all of our projects," explained Jamie Drake, "is the complexity of the materials. Caleb and I have a gift for creating something unique and unusual, and we do it through an amazing combination."
