Workshop APD

The green thing is a baseline. Good design incorporates many aspects of sustainable development. It is no longer on paper.

Workshop APD, founded in 1999 in New York City, is the main founder of Matt Berman and Andrew Kotchen, specializing in luxury home design and high-end commercial development. Whether designing a private residence, a large hotel or a civic environment, Workshop APD uses the DPC method of architecture to bring craftsmanship to architecture. According to the purpose of the project and the unique requirements, we seek a balance of rationality and touch, decoration and restraint lines.

Matt Berman, Assoc, AIA and Andrew Kotchen, Assoc, and AIA were first promoted to nationally renowned designers in 2006 when they won the Global Green Energy Conservation Design Competition in New Orleans. Since then, their company in New York, Workshop APD, has continued to explore ways to better design for more people, while still doing high-end, custom home projects, making up for much of its work. In 2011, Berman and Kotchen designed a product line for the Italian kitchen company Aster Cucine.
