The architectural form of the house in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains was designed by the Warsaw-based studio 81.WAW. The building consists of three above-ground modules and one underground level. Its composition, paired with shou sugi ban cladding and glazed connectors, allows the house to blend naturally with the forest surroundings.

Oskar Firek Architects was commissioned to design the interiors of the 500+ m² house at the moment when the architectural design was completed and construction began in 2020. The investors, a young family, approached the studio to adapt the interior to their needs while maintaining harmony with the existing architecture and the surrounding landscape. For OFA, it was a valuable opportunity to work within exceptional contemporary architecture.

The main goal was to create a space open to its natural context. The tall, spacious interiors of the main module include the living room with kitchen and access to a terrace with a pool, forming a seamless connection to the garden. The remaining modules, linked by glass corridors, include the master bedroom, fitness area, children’s rooms, a study, and guest spaces. Extensive glazing brings daylight into the interior and visually connects the house with the forest.

The interiors were designed to be ordered, balanced, and open to nature. Clear, simple forms, sometimes with a brutalist character, give the space a modern and timeless quality. Despite the open layout, the thoughtful arrangement of elements ensures comfort, functionality, and a sense of intimacy. The project provides the family with a home that supports a calm, nature-oriented daily rhythm.
