I designed this apartment for my family and it was a certain compromise - it was necessary to combine my rather radical minimalist views on design and the life of a family with children, so that it would be convenient for everyone. In the end, I succeeded, the apartment is moderately minimalistic, but at the same time, in terms of ease of use, there is nothing to find fault with, all the solutions that I laid down in the project are absolutely convenient in real life.
As for the visual techniques of the design itself, this is the purest space, in terms of perception. There are no decorative elements here that exist only to create a decorative effect, the interior is rather architectural, built on the interaction of volumes, textures and light. Given the relatively small area, one of the main functional tasks was to place a sufficient number of storage systems and I made this the basis for constructing the architecture of the entire space. The furniture here is not just furniture, these are truly architectural volumes that form the space.
If we talk about finishing materials, then I would call the walls the most unexpected solution. The walls here, as I describe it, are alive, not ideal, brought to a mirror-like smooth state. The walls are the main decorative element of the apartment. At the same time, the “imperfect” walls are adjacent to the ideal geometry of the cabinet furniture, due to which the harmony that I was trying to achieve is achieved. On the floor there is an oak engineered board, which adds warmth and coziness to the interior.
The color scheme also continues the theme of minimalism and architectural approach, all the cabinet furniture here is in one color, except for the kitchen, its color is different. The same goes for the walls, the color of the walls is the same throughout the apartment, except for the children's room, here we decided to make it more cheerful and bright. To soften the severity of the restrained color scheme, I introduced furniture elements in oak veneer, thus adding the natural warmth of wood.
When creating this interior, it was important for me to use Russian brands as much as possible and show that you can create a cool interior with the help of local manufacturers. Cabinet and upholstered furniture, lighting, finishing materials and engineered board on the floor - all this is from Russian brands.
It is important to note that the main theme of the interior is to express yourself through the interior, for me it was important that my vision was expressed not only through the design of the space itself, but also through its filling with elements of art and decor. The artwork here is my own, I selected and placed the decor myself and it reflects my vision that the filling of the space should be personal, these are not just some objects for shooting, these objects live in the interior and fill it with something internal and deeply personal.
